WINDOW SHOPPING

WINDOW SHOPPING

The idea started from a magazine where shop owners could advertise their products .

This magazine was issued to customers for free, it also allowed regular subscribers to have discounts on products that they bought from shop owners who advertised on the site .

After a while the YPM debit card evolved from this, which allows you to have discounts iin selected department stores around Nigeria.

YPM is an acronym that actually means whY Pay More? It is Nigeria's first automated discount card that helps you save money while shopping, by offering you automated and unlimited discounts for 365 days from 90 brands, 140 locations with 60 of them presently setup and working. This is Nigeria's largest discount network of stores ever. The number of YPM certified stores increases everyday.

What it does.
It automatically saves you money on the price of the goods bought or services rendered at various designated locations every time and all year round.

How to get the discounts being offered.

To qualify for these discounts, you have to:

  1. Own a YPM discount card
  2. Pay with your ATM card on the P.O.S (point of sale) terminals of any of our numerous YPM certified merchants
  3. Use the YPM card to accompany the sale to identify you as a YPM member and then enjoy the discount.
How to use the YPM card
  1. Visit any of our numerous YPM certified merchants.
  2. Purchase your goods or services.
  3. Ask to pay directly with your ATM card, cash card or any payment-enabled card.
  4. Follow this process:
  • The sales person punches the 'PURCHASE' button and swipes your card.
  • He/she enters the total amount due for the purchase you have made. For example N40,000.
  • Then you enter your PIN no. on the P.O.S terminal in front of you
  • The terminal would then display the following question 'ARE YOU A YPM CUSTOMER (YES/NO)' or 'YPM CARD? (YES/NO)'
  • Choose YES and you will be required to swipe your YPM card for identification.
  • Enjoy the discount and obtain the proof, which is the receipt the terminal produces. It will contain the details of the just concluded transaction. For example:
PRICE: N40,000
AMOUNT PAID: N 36,000
AMOUNT SAVED: N4,000

If you choose NO, you will pay the original amount that was initially entered, which is the total cost without a discount. In this example you'll pay the N40,000.

YPM organizes huge discount days at specific merchant locations. For example 'LACIES (one of the stores on our network) may be giving 40% discounts on Thursday and Friday the 12 and 13th of august to all YPM cardholders.' This is not the regular discount being offered by LACIES its actually 6% but on these days it would be 40% off. It could be a bar, a club, shirt maker, salon, furniture store, hotel, restaurant, dry cleaners etc.
